MDS Monday-Using a Template

Hello everyone!

Today is MDS Monday and I want to share a super easy way to use this program.  Stampin' Up! has done a fantastic job of including wonderful, ready to use templates in the My Digital Studio program.  There are templates for all sizes of cards, tags, scrapbook pages in various sizes, calendars and photobooks.

My scrapbook page today took me just a couple of minutes to create as I used one of their templates.  I simply had to drag and drop my photos into it, add a title and journaling and it was done!  I love the result and these truly help get some scrapping done quickly!  The template I used was a 12x12 layout from Lemonade Stand that was offered during Sale-a-bration.  There are lots of fun layouts-be sure to check them out!

Thanks for stopping by!

MDS Monday and a great SALE!

Have I told you lately how much I love Stampin' Up!'s MY DIGITAL STUDIO program (MDS)?  It is amazing!!

I am an avid scrapbooker and have been for about 15 years.  I don't know about you but I never feel like I am caught up!  I absolutely love to create pages the traditional way with paper, dies, stamps, accessories, memorabilia and pictures but I find it difficult to find enough time to scrap it all!  This is where I turn to My Digital Studio!  I can take a sketch, recreate it in MDS, and then all I have to do is drop in my pictures, change the colors, add my embellishments and journaling and I am done a page!  It is so quick and I am catching up on lots of pages I wasn't sure I would ever get done!

Once you have the program, you never loose your content so you have an endless supply of papers, stamps, punches, and embellishments!

I create all kinds of other projects in MDS as well.  I did a digital photo book of our trip to Hawaii, I made an Alphabet Swatch book for my daughter, I make personalized calendars, birthday invitations, cards, and much more!

I am going to start sharing some of these creations on Mondays for MDS Mondays.  I will share tips, tricks, and creations to help you with your digital creations.

Here is today's MDS page from my personal calendar:

This page was easy to create with an 8 1/2x 11 template that is included in the program.  I simply added a square punch, some circles on the tag with some ribbon and my pictures (that I changed to sepia in the program).  I love that you can create pages so quickly with pre-designed templates and you can take a moment to tweak them and make them your own!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures out there!

I am lucky today to have my mom visiting for the weekend from Manitoba.  We are taking in a touring Broadway production of "Beauty and the Beast" here in Regina and I will be treating her to supper.  I don't get to spend time with my mom often enough so I am thrilled to have her here for a few days.  My kids are excited to have their "Nana" here too and are creating a cake for her to celebrate Mother's Day.
This is a picture of us visiting her at Christmas time-I need to take some more with her this weekend!

Today I wanted to share a quick card that I made for my mom when she graciously took our kids for a weekend so Jordan and I could have a quiet weekend away (both of our mom's live in another province so this RARELY happens!)

This card uses the Comfort Cafe Designer Series paper that I love with some other vintage touches.  I added a single flower from the Flower Trim in the spring catalogue (#126869) and this catalogue retires this month too!

The lace ribbon is the 5/8" Crochet trim (#118481) from the main catalogue (thankfully it is sticking around!).  The greeting was from the Vintage Verses Sale-a-bration set from this year.  I added a few pearls to dress it up a bit.

I stamped with Midnight Muse and used it for the card base as well.

I hope you like it!  Stop by this week for more samples using retiring products!

MMmmm....Chocolate!!

I don't know about you but I LOVE chocolate!  Actually, my whole family does and it is never a question of what type of dessert I will bake (when I do!).

Today's card features a retiring stamp set, retiring punches and my favorite, CHOCOLATE!

How cute is this card?  Fellow Demonstrator, Jen Blank, created this card for a swap I was in and I LOVE IT!!  The punch art chocolate bar uses the 1" and 1 1/4" Square punches and are layered with dimensionals to really make it look like a chocolate bar.  The sentiment is so fun with this card and is from the Word Play stamp set (#120651).  I use this set for all kinds of projects from cards to scrapbook pages.  I will really miss it when it retires.  Here are the stamps in this versatile set:

The 1 1/4" and the 1 3/8" square punches are retiring this month as well.  You can check them out, along with the other retiring accessories here.

Minnie Mouse Punch Art

My daughter loves Minnie Mouse and that inspired today's card. I recreated a card I had done for one of my winter card buffets.  It was quick and easy to create.

This card uses Circle Circus stamps (#127784) for the whimsical background as well as the Perfectly Penned greeting (#122892).  The label is cut with the Apothecary Accents Framelits (#127003).  Minnie is done with the 2 1/2" circle punch (#120906), 1 3/4" circle punch (#119850), the small heart punch (#1171930) and the Itty Bitty punches (#118309).  Details that I added were some piercing with the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack (#126187) and of course, some Rhinestones for a bit of sparkle.  I hope you like it!

Circle Circus is retiring this month and is a really fun and versatile set.  Is one of my favorites that I have used a lot over the last 3 years.
These images match lots of our circle punches as well as a scallop circle so they are easy to punch out, layer and add lots of dimension to your project.  Order yours before the end of May if you want it before it retires forever!

Thanks for stopping by!  Stop by this week for more projects featuring retiring stamp sets and products!

Monsters and Aliens!

Today I want to share with you one of THE CUTEST cards I received at convention last summer.  I am making lots of kids cards for upcoming birthday parties my kids are attending and this one is definitely one I will be CASEING!

This card was created by Cheryl Hirst and it features the Make a Monster stamp set (#120606).  I love the bright colors against the black background and the circle punched planet and moon add so much dimension to this card!  The giant googly eye is a moving part and spins between the two aliens.  How fun is that?  If you love this card as much as I do, you will need to order these stamps ASAP as this set is retiring at the end of May!!

Make sure you stop by my blog often over the next few weeks as I will be sharing lots of projects featuring retiring stamp sets and accessories!

Have you checked out our retiring lists?  Accessories are starting to sell out so get your favs before they are gone!  Check out the accessories list here.

Stamp sets will be available until the end of the month (just a few weeks away) so don't forget to get yours soon!  Here is the list for the retiring stamps.

See you soon!
