Quick and Easy Christmas Card!

I absolutely love the colors on this Christmas card!  It comes from a kit called Merry Little Christmas Simply Created kit.  I paired it with the Merry Little Christmas stamp set to create the cards that Stampin' Up! has in their Holiday Catalogue.

I love the colors in this card as well as how easy it was to create!  The kit comes with enough pieces (that are all pre-cut and scored I might add!) to make 8 cards!  This is a great card to mass produce for the holiday season.

The only extra thing I added to this card (just to step it up a bit) was to add some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the odd white stripes on the designer paper.  I love glitz for the holidays and I think it really adds to this card!

Thanks for stopping by!

Santa's List

Can you believe it is only 1 month until Christmas??  Wow!  Where does the time go?!  I started my Christmas cards over a month ago and I am sure glad that I did!

Today I want to share a Christmas card I created for one of my Christmas classes using the Santa's List stamp set.  I love this image!  He looks like a Santa I had on a puzzle or a story book that I had as a child and it makes me smile every time I use it.

I embossed the card with Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder (in the holiday catalogue).  I stamped Santa with black Staz On ink and colored him with markers.  I then die cut him with the Oval Framelits along with another oval in Early Espresso.

I adhered them to the card and added some Dazzling Diamonds to the fur on his coat and hat.  It give it so much more life!
The greeting was done with Espresso embossing powder and the More Merry Messages stamp set.  I punched it with the Designer Label punch and matted it with 2 more punches that I cut in half and adhered to the back.  The finishing touch was to add a knot of Cherry Cobbler Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon

I hope you enjoyed this bit of Christmas inspiration and that you will stop by again soon for some more Christmas ideas!

My Monthly Planner with My Digital Studio

Today I want to share a project I created in the summer using My Digital Studio.  When I was teaching school, I relied on a daily planner to keep myself organized, well planned, and on track.  I decided to create one for myself for my Stampin' Up! business as I seem to have lots on the go (and my mommy brain is more forgetful than it used to be!)

I started by using the "Up to Date Planner" download which is full of lists, calendars, boxes, etc.  It was perfect to create my planner!
I used some of the templates from that download for some pages, and just components of it to create some of my own.

Here is my cover:
This is my back cover.  It features Stampin' Up!'s Statement of the Heart (a mission statement I love) and it is also a download.
For each month, I have a calendar and "to do" lists that correspond with that month.  There is a space for birthdays, goals, projects, and notes.

In each month I have class sign up lists, social media lists, and even pages for sketches for using while I design each month's classes.

For each week in the month, I have a week plan where I make my daily "to do" lists.

I also have included pages with important dates, my goals and results, mileage and expenses, and even an incentive trip tracker.
When I had finished designing it, I had it printed and coil bound (with a plastic cover and back page).
I am thrilled with how it all turned out and definitely rely on it daily!  My Digital Studio helps me with so much more than just scrapbooks.  If you don't have it yet, you need to get it!  It is so much fun to use on so many projects!  I hope you enjoyed today's project!

Fall Leaf Wreath

Hello and Happy Fall!
I love this time of the year-the cool weather, the crunchy leaves, and the stunning colors!  I was feeling inspired by the changing leaves after going for a walk with my daughter last week so I decided to do a "just for me" project!
I pulled out my Big shot, some colored cardstock (early espresso, more mustard (retired), pear pizzaz and crumb cake), champagne glimmer paper, brushed gold cardstock, and my autumn accents bigz die.  My daughter and I cut sheet after sheet of leaves.  I decided I wanted to turn them into a fall wreath.  I started by turning the leaves into ones that were a little more realistic looking.

Here was how I went about transforming the leaves from this

                                                                      to this   :

1.  Start with a plain leaf.  I set it on my piercing mat and used the stylus from my Simply Scored tool to add the veining in the leaf.  I started with the center one and added the side veins next.

2.  I added some sponging with my sponge daubers.  It brightened them up, added extra color and brought out the veins.  Each leaf I seemed to sponged differently.
3.  I stamped some water spots on the leaf using both the French Foliage set (retired) and the Gorgeous Grunge set.  You can see the spots better on the maple leaf.  Then I folded/bent the leaves along the score marks to give the leaves some dimension and "life".

4.  My last step with the leaves was to add some homemade shimmer mist for some sparkle and shine.

You could use these leaves on any project-cards, gift boxes, 3D items, and scrapbook pages.  I choose to make a wreath.

I got a foam wreath and hot glued my leaves on, working around the wreath in the same direction.  Because of the folds, they had lots of dimension and easily covered the spaces.  I added a tulle bow with a large button to finish it off.

Here is my completed project!
Here it is hanging in my porch with a banner I created a couple of years ago (sorry, the lighting isn't great in the pictures!)

I had so much fun creating this wreath and look forward to hanging it up every fall now!
