Go Riders! Easy Digital scrap page

Happy Monday everyone!

Over the summer, I created tons of scrapbook pages using My Digital Studio.  This was a quick and easy one of my son when he was about 18 months old.

I love using the "match color" button so I could get my Stamp (Touchdown) ad journaling to be that "Rider Green" I needed.  It is definitely a great tool!  I used a few overlays on this layout, changed them to white, and lightened the opacity to give a bit of chalkboard effect.  I love MDS for getting some pages completed quickly.

Magnificent Maple .

It is sure starting to look like fall here in Regina!  We have had great warm weather here (finally after a strangely cool summer) but our leaves are definitely changing!  It seems that as soon as the calendar turned, so did the leaves!  I do love fall and especially the fall colors.  Today I wanted to share some fall cards featuring the new single Magnificent Maple stamp (#131868) from the Holiday catalogue along with some of those fabulous colors.
This card was one I created for my technique club in August.  I cased the layout from Alanna Wharf (my sister-in-law and upline!).  To get the fun background, I inked the chevron embossing folder with Crushed Curry ink (which I am really enjoying playing with!).  Then I ran my vanilla cardstock through that in the big shot and you get this fun background.  I used espresso embossing powder to heat emboss the Magnificent Maple stamp.  Then I added some color (crushed curry, cajun craze, and cherry cobbler) with my aqua painters.  To embellish the card, I added the new chevron ribbon, and bitty banner greeting, and heat embossed a gold brad with espresso embossing powder.  I was really happy with the result!

This card was one I received in a Canadian demonstrators swap that I joined.  I am not sure who created this one but I really like the colors.  I love the Sweater Weather Designer Paper.  The fall oranges, yellow, and browns are softened by the addition of Soft Sky.  I can't wait to do some scrapbooking with this!

This was a swap card I received by fellow Canadian demo Christyne Richardson.  You can check out her blog here.  She also featured the Sweater weather paper along with the Maple Leaf stamp.  It is just lovely, simple and understated.

Come back soon for some more fall inspired cards!

Mosaic Madness!

Have you seen the Mosaic stamps, punch, designer paper and matching embossing folder yet?  If you have, you'll know how fun they are to play with and all of the pieces coordinate!  LOVE THAT!!  If you haven't seen these products, then check out this card!

The background is embossed with the Mosaic Mosaic Embossing folder (#129984).  I added a piece of the Quatrefancy designer paper (#130141) and a border of Costal Cabana paper.  I stamped 4 Mosaic pieces and the centers from the Mosaic Madness stamp set,  punched them out with the coordinating Mosaic Punch, and popped them up with dimensionals.  Then I added the stamped border and another punched mosaic piece.  I stamped a greeting from the Petite Pairs set.  I finished it off with some sparkle by adding a 4 Rhinestones.  This card was quick and easy!  I can't wait to play with these pieces even more-and I have a few Christmas card ideas I hope to share with you soon!

Holiday Sparkle!!

Holiday card?! I know we are in the last week of summer but I am already creating my Christmas cards!!  I know-crazy!!  Every year I seem to leave it too long and I end up rushing to finish them in November.  This year I vowed to get them done earlier!

Here is a sparkly holiday card I created using some more components of the "Thankful Tablescapes" kit (item #133463).

As I said in my post yesterday, this kit is AWESOME!  There are so many projects you can create with 1 kit!  On this card I used the fun chalkboard die cut pieces.  This background one is stamped with Illuminate Watermark Ink and the front banner is heat embossed with pool party embossing powder.  They are set on a piece of Silver Glimmer paper and embellished with Basic Rhinestones for even more sparkle! The stamp set I used is the "Serene Snowflakes"set that is carried over from last year's holiday catalogue.  You can check out the carry over list here.

Thanks for checking out my blog today!  Come back soon!

Birch Bark Card

I'm ba-aack!!!

I know I have been seriously MIA on the blog front this summer but I am back!  I have all of my blog glitches fixed (after watching lots of YouTube videos ;) and doing some reading) and things are good to go!  Technology and computers are NOT my strong suit but I am ready to conquer this blog thing!

This was fun fall card to create!

Today I want to share with you a card I created for a card swap.  It features a kit you may have overlooked in the Holiday catalogue called "Thankful Tablescapes" (item #133463).

I LOVE the components in this kit!!   It has lots of fun products that can be used for many crafting projects!  One of my favorite components is the birch bark paper.  The texture on this paper is FABULOUS!

I used that paper as my inspiration for this card and the rest of the design followed.  I used some gold embossing to brighten things up and give a bit of shine.  Gold is s big trend this season!  I also used the greeting from the "Best of Greetings" (Best of 25 years) set. (item #133485 clear).

Check back this week for another card featuring the Thankful Tablescapes kit!

MDS Monday-Using a Template

Hello everyone!

Today is MDS Monday and I want to share a super easy way to use this program.  Stampin' Up! has done a fantastic job of including wonderful, ready to use templates in the My Digital Studio program.  There are templates for all sizes of cards, tags, scrapbook pages in various sizes, calendars and photobooks.

My scrapbook page today took me just a couple of minutes to create as I used one of their templates.  I simply had to drag and drop my photos into it, add a title and journaling and it was done!  I love the result and these truly help get some scrapping done quickly!  The template I used was a 12x12 layout from Lemonade Stand that was offered during Sale-a-bration.  There are lots of fun layouts-be sure to check them out!

MDS Monday and a great SALE!

Have I told you lately how much I love Stampin' Up!'s MY DIGITAL STUDIO program (MDS)?  It is amazing!!

I am an avid scrapbooker and have been for about 15 years.  I don't know about you but I never feel like I am caught up!  I absolutely love to create pages the traditional way with paper, dies, stamps, accessories, memorabilia and pictures but I find it difficult to find enough time to scrap it all!  This is where I turn to My Digital Studio!  I can take a sketch, recreate it in MDS, and then all I have to do is drop in my pictures, change the colors, add my embellishments and journaling and I am done a page!  It is so quick and I am catching up on lots of pages I wasn't sure I would ever get done!

Once you have the program, you never loose your content so you have an endless supply of papers, stamps, punches, and embellishments!

I create all kinds of other projects in MDS as well.  I did a digital photo book of our trip to Hawaii, I made an Alphabet Swatch book for my daughter, I make personalized calendars, birthday invitations, cards, and much more!

I am going to start sharing some of these creations on Mondays for MDS Mondays.  I will share tips, tricks, and creations to help you with your digital creations.

Here is today's MDS page from my personal calendar:

This page was easy to create with an 8 1/2x 11 template that is included in the program.  I simply added a square punch, some circles on the tag with some ribbon and my pictures (that I changed to sepia in the program).  I love that you can create pages so quickly with pre-designed templates and you can take a moment to tweak them and make them your own!
